DPTSc Program
(Experienced and Licensed Clinicians interested in Teaching and Clinical Research)

An experienced clinician who is interested in teaching and clinical research must take the GRE as part of the application to the DPTSc program. It is not necessary to have a master's degree to apply. Students without a master's degree may need to take some coursework to bring their knowledge base to the equivalency of the current master's level of study in physical therapy (e.g. Radiology, Pharmacology, Neuroscience).

The DPTSc student develops an area of emphasis (eg: neuroscience, engineering, social and behavioral sciences, public policy, pediatrics), takes a series of courses in research design and statistics, serves as a teaching assistant and then develops their research skills by defining and carrying out an independent research project. The DPTSc program requires approximately 3 years of full time study.

Each of these graduate programs is defined in greater detail under these links: program, admission, costs, resources and faculty.
